Elsternwick · Glen Eira

Dog walking in Elsternwick.

Elsternwick Park straddles the Glen Eira and Bayside border, and we work both sides. Rippon Lea Estate anchors the north-east corner (heritage gardens, no dogs inside, but great streets around). Between them, one of the best village runs in Glen Eira.

★ Elsternwick parks

Where we walk in Elsternwick.

Glen Eira requires dogs on-leash within 20 metres of playgrounds, barbecue and picnic areas, and any sports facility or event in use.

1

Elsternwick Park

The big one. Sits on the Glen Eira and Bayside boundary with designated off-leash areas around the lake and the northern sporting fields. We use it from both the Elsternwick and Brighton sides.

2

Harleston Park

Local pocket park just south of Glen Huntly Road. On-leash, quiet, well-shaded. A calm loop for reactive or senior dogs, and a good starting point for street walks through Elsternwick's residential grid.

Rippon Lea streets

Dogs aren't allowed inside Rippon Lea Estate itself (heritage gardens), but the streets around Hotham Street, Balaclava Road and Ripponlea village make some of the loveliest neighbourhood walks in Glen Eira.

Street walking

For fully fenced off-leash time we use Pawfield Park at The Wedge (Caulfield East). We check Glen Eira's off-leash map and on-site signage before every walk.
